John Denver became a star thanks to the folk songs that he wrote, many of which were situated in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. grew up in Roswell new Mexico, but fell in love Colorado. The singer-songwriter eventually moved to Aspen. Denver's state anthems are a source of inspiration for numerous people to go to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared that John Denver is the only artist to represent Colorado. Denver was the very first Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2011. Denver is the symbol of Colorado to many across the globe. In my journeys, you come across someone on the opposite end of the planet, or someone from New Zealand and you say 'I'm from Colorado and the very first thing that comes they say is Oh John Denver! Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief stint with folk bands and was his debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff had originally written the tune with Johnny Cash's music in mind, but Denver realized from the first time he heard first versions of the song that it was going to be an instant hit. The song was performed at Washington D.C. to a huge crowd, the singer made a recording a few days later.
